It was RIDICULOUS and it was SUBLIME!!!

Well, no one can say that Austin Cabaret Theatre doesn't offer something for everyone! The two nights of From the Ridiculous to the Sublime were loads of fun, with a variety of song, dance, silliness, and props.

LOTS of props.

Not to mention five costume changes, but who's counting?! Thanks everyone for the terrific feedback, and the lovely, warm reception. I was pretty sure you all would like selections such as "Who Can I Turn To," but when I threw in tunes about not wearing underwear or lesbian seagulls, who knows what can happen? Needless to say, everyone reacted just as I'd hoped, and I appreciate the enthusiastic responses.

Please feel free to leave your thoughts on a post here to share with others.

Some major "thank you's" that I didn't get to share on show night--

The Kathy Womack Gallery
(click here for gallery info! but then come back, ok?)

Green Mango Real Estate
(click here so I can sell you a house. Seriously. I need to cover costume costs!!!)

The Lind Family Foundation

David Perkoff Music

MusicMakers

Brian Jenson

my Band, and the incredible Dustin L. Struhall

"Los Dos Nicoles"--the zany Nicole Shiro and Nicole Marosis...I COULD NOT have done this without you two...

and the AMAZING staff at
Sterling Affairs/The Mansion at Judges' Hill who had to deal with my craziness, and also had to clean up after the confetti cannons, fire-eating, and molting feathers.

Lots of feathers. Sorry, PETA.

I've posted a few pictures here (in case you didn't come to the show...you know who you are...

and so do I, incidentally.)

...and look for some video soon. I think I might actually have enough technical wherewithall to get it loaded onto the blog...

Again, my many thanks to all who attended.

If you had HALF as much fun as I did, then it was a HUGE success!!!

XOXO
Stuart

Dude we entertained our dear friends with your show and it was the best! Turned out it was the younger one's birthday, but he didn't tell us. He thought the evening befitting for his special day. We love you...LB&FFP

Stuart, Stuart, Stuart,
You were simply divine. My friend Sally was just blown away. To date she is wondering how, just how did I get you to sing Copacabana just for her birthday! She is a Fanilow! That will be our secret. We loved your performance. I ran home and ordered Miss Gulch so that I could hear over and over "Pour Me a Man". Thank you for keeping Cabaret alive in Austin. If only we had you or someone like you in Houston. Keep bringing in the performers and Tino and I will keep traveling to Austin.
Gilbert, Tino & Sally!
